This started out as a “cheap” conversion of the Aquaevac from Disney’s The Lost World. I ended up scouring the St. Louis region and managed to get the last five of these sets available, on sale from Toys R Us. There ended the cheap part. Model ship fittings, gun turrets, 1/87 scale MLRS models for teh rocket pods and all sorts of bits and bobs later and this ended up being far from cheap. The vessel truned out well though. She looks the part of a no nonsense aerial support vessel. The 1/87 scale MLRS pods scaled to nearly be exaclty 9.2 inch rockets in 15mm scale. The two turrets are from 15mm Bishop self propelled 25 pdr vehicles from WW2. For a first effort I am well pleased indeed.
