St Louis City Fire Department Aerial Fireboat Targee

This is another “quick and cheap” scrtachbuilding project that wasn’t either of those things. It is a model of the (ficticious) flying fireboat AERIAL No 1 Targee built by James B Eads for the City of St Louis Fire Department in 1870. The hull is scratch built. A Revell FDNY Firefighter Fireboat kit contributed the bulk of the deck guns and nozzles. Many other kits and parts boxes were scavenged for other things. Scott Flower and his firend sin Michigan sub contracted the electrical subsystems and the fans. Micro Engineering bridge kits provided most of the ironwork. The aerosurfaces came from two different scale Lindberg (person not kit company) Flyers. the wings are sqaure and simple. The deck house is from a Lindberg (kit company not person) tug boat.
